Paw & Order Inc. begins with a dream and a need for specialized care for one of our very own beloved pets.

In 2008, Stephanie was actively involved with a local area flyball team that traveled throughout the Atlantic Provinces and into Maine. During this time, she had a dog named Calvin who had already retired from the sport due to age. Calvin was prone to having stress-induced seizures and it became increasingly evident that the travel to flyball tournaments was causing unnecessary stress on him. As a result, Stephanie went in search of a local overnight boarding facility where Calvin could stay on those flyball weekends and avoid the stress of travel. Calvin was 14-years old at the time and didn't need much - a couch, television, and some scratches from someone who would tell him that he was a "good boy"....

After touring the local facilities open at the time, 2 things became clear:

1. There were no facilities available that would cause Calvin any less stress than traveling with his family and,

2. There was a need in our community for a higher level of care for family pets when they could not be with their families.

It was at this point that the family retired from flyball and started making plans to open a "Calvin-approved" facility. In 2009, Stephanie completed some renovations on her own house that would allow for other people's family pets to come and stay in a safe and healthy home environment and in December of that same year, the doors to Paw & Order opened for business. We began our adventure and Calvin has always remained as our guiding light.
